Call for Papers - Online application

Authors wishing to present an oral or a poster presentation at the ECHA 2012 Conference are warmly welcome to submit an abstract related to the main theme "Giftedness across the Lifespan"!

Please note that all abstracts must be sent electronically via the Abstract Submission Programme by March 31, 2012. Abstracts sent via e-mail or fax will not be accepted.

All electronically submitted abstracts will be reviewed by the programme committee for methodological rigor and relevance to the congress theme. The presenting author will be notified about the acceptance or the rejection of the abstract by mail by May 31, 2012. Please note: The abstract will not be included in the conference programme if the delegate has not registered by June 30, 2012.

Whether a contribution will be accepted as an oral lecture or poster (please indicate your preference) will be decided by the programme committee. Please note that the number of oral presentations is limited.

Conference Session Formats:

Symposia

The Symposium is a group presentation on a single theme, and must include a moderator and discussants. The moderator is the symposium chair and organizer and is responsible for all participants, for sending in the proposal and for notifying presenters whether the proposal has been accepted or declined. It provides an opportunity to examine one topic more deeply and/or from different perspectives. The duration of the symposia is about 1,5 hours.

Oral presentations (in a paper session)

Paper sessions are oral presentations of 3 papers, followed by discussion. The reserved time for one oral presentation is 15 minutes.

Posters

Posters will be presented in poster session during the coffee breaks on Thursday, 13th and Friday, 14th September 2012. Participants are responsible for putting their posters on display and removing them. The organizers will provide the equipment needed for mounting posters. The size of the Poster Board is 100 cm x 200 cm (width x height). Submission guidelines for posters will be sent with acceptance notification of the abstact.

Strands:

Scientific

In order to be accepted your paper should be based in the field of talent development and/or excellence during the livespan and it should include a clear theoretical grounding, statement of the research question, research design, methodology, the main result and a conclusion. Your research should be significant for the practical or theoretical development of your research field.

Practical

Practical papers should contain a brief description of your project and the name of all organisations participating in your project. Please provide a brief description of the identified needs, the theoretical background and of the talents or persons your project focuses on. In addition your evaluation results should include impacts on talent development and excellence and implications for further practice.
