Münster: City of History

Münster can look back on a history of over 1,200 years and has always played an eminent role in the region and far beyond. 

Münster made a name for itself on the world stage as the City of the Peace of Westphalia. The European Powers had negotiated over five years in Münster and Osnabrück before finally reaching a concord that could end the Thirty Years War. Peace was finally declared on 24 October 1648.

Whenever I was in a beautiful city, whether it was Bamberg or Bremen, I have always stated that it was only the second most beautiful in the country. That is how I provoked the question which city I thought to be the most beautiful one. And then I replied: Münster.
